Richly textured geometric patterning and a unisex fit make for a truly timeless pullover. The firm, strongly defined lines of twisted stitches form tiled layers across the body and run down the sleeves in a single line, grounded with smooth stocking stitch.
The pullover is worked bottom up in pieces, with an inclusive range of eleven sizes that takes into account the proportions of the twisted stitch diamond motif. Saddle shoulders ensure a perfect structure and flattering fit. Notes for simple modifications are included. Cable patterns are both written and charted.
Size inclusive to a 75.75” / 192.5 cm finished chest measurement. Meant to be worn with approx 5" (12.5 cm) positive ease. Sample is 39 ¾" (101 cm) size; model is 31" (77.5 cm) chest.
Substitution Notes: Find a smooth, worsted weight yarn with some wool content. Multiple plies and a tighter twist will provide lovely stitch definitions to make the twisted stitches really pop. A loftier yarn will also be lovely with the diamond motif appearing a little more blurred.
Techniques: Increases/decreases, German short rows (instructions included), bias bind off (instructions included), twisted stitches (multiple options included for working them), working twisted stitches from chart or written instructions, saddle shoulder sweater construction, bottom up, worked flat, seamed, picking up stitches, seaming.
