Just three colours yield seven distinct blended hues in this simple but effective gradient blanket. Working up fast with chunky needles, it makes a great baby gift; and in a cozy washable wool blend, it will last long enough to be passed down to the next baby.
Holding three strands together, switch out one at a time to generate the smooth continuous colour shift from corner to corner. The blanket is worked in Garter Stitch on the bias. Three strands of yarn are held together throughout. This pattern has no charts.
This knitting pattern includes written instructions and detailed directions for colour changes.
Substitution Notes: Choose an easy-care worsted weight yarn in acrylic or superwash wool blends. In order to get the colour gradient effect, three strands must be held together, but if that's not important, then two strands of bulky or a super bulky yarn will work. Swatch to determine finished measurements, especially when substituting.
Techniques: Increases (kfb) / decreases (k2tog), garter st, holding three strands together.
