This pattern for kids' & women's mittens is constructed in a professional program for clothing pattern development. You will receive patterns for children aged 3–5 years, 5–8 years, 9+ years, and universal women's size.
Skill level: This pattern is suitable for intermediate sewers.
Sewing instructions: You can find sewing instructions for the gloves here: https://www.picolly.com/how-to-sew-womens-and-kids-mittens-sewing-instructions-perfect-pattern
Recommended material: Choose some thick knit - elastic material, such as stretchy fleece. Gloves made of Warmkeeper are also great. You can also use other warm & stretchy materials such as faux-fur lined knit, etc. Don't use softshell and other woven fabrics! :)
This pattern is not designed for softshell and other rigid (woven) fabrics. But if you still want to try, simply enlarge the pattern and make the space around the wrist straight and wide (in the original pattern, this area is tapered). However, in this case, I cannot guarantee a great result. :) This pattern was carefully designed so that the resulting gloves fit perfectly. This gives you a unique opportunity to sew gloves for children that they will really like to wear. They copy the shape of the hand and the natural position of the thumb, which is neither sticking out nor hidden in the palm, as is often the case with ready-made gloves.
There are two versions of this pattern (after purchase you will receive both versions):
-1st version (one size view) – PDF A4 pattern in individual sizes with seam allowances outlined– all individual sizes of the pattern (pattern of each size shows sewing lines and seam allowances are outlined too).
-2nd version (classic view) – PDF A4 pattern showing all sizes without seam allowances - all sizes are outlined “in one picture”(each in its own color) without seam allowances.
-You can choose what works best for you. The advantage of the classic view (where all the sizes are shown) is that you can easily customize your pattern to fit body types in between the chart sizes. One size view saves time during preparation - you do not have to think where and how much to add for the seams, because everything is already there.
