Contains:
- Free video tutorial on YouTube
- Printing formats: tiled file with margins, adapted to both A4 and Letter + A0, print scale on 100%
- Seam allowances are included: 1 cm everywhere.
- CAREFUL: watch the video tutorial to know how to sew it, it does NOT come with PDF illustrated instructions.
Materials you need at home:
- Shell fabric: sweat, fleece, velvet, padded fabric, denim, nylon, knit... With or without stretch. Note that to sew the project following method 2 (burrito, see chapters under the video tutorial on Youtube), it’s imperative to have at least one fabric, either the shell or the lining, fairly stretchy.
- Lining: my sample is lined with cotton jersey/5% lycra, but you may want to not line it (change hood seam allowance), or to line it with fleece, sherpa, or other thick and cosy fabrics. Pick a stretchy fabric if you’re interested in method 2 (see tutorial on Youtube).
- See yardage among the pics.
- Cord: extensible or not. 130 cm / 51" long. Cord stopper optional.
- Bias or webbing tape (if method 3 - see video tutorial) 150 cm / 60" long
This sewing project is meant to keep you warm in winter. It’s a combination of a hood, a high collar and what pretty much qualifies as a breast plate. (Btw, it's unisex and I think it'll will make for a perfect Xmas present!)

How to download, print, cut, assemble, pick your size and more in this PDF patterns 101 guide: https://youtu.be/04OuqgUOgME
| SIZES |
Seven adult sizes. How to know which size to pick? For reference, I took size M and my head is 56 cm big.
Measure your head girth at forehead.
Measure the collar parts, taking into account 2 cm of seam allowance: which size is equal to your head measurements? If your fabric is stretchy, you can plan 2-3 cm of negative ease. If your fabric isn’t stretchy: take the same length as your head girth.
| DIFFICULTY |
Easy! I give you 3 ways of finishing the Comfort Hood, one of the methods, the burrito one, is difficult (see chapters under the youtube video).
