“Chrysanthemum”. Fringed scrunchie or bun holder. Easy crochet tutorial pattern instant download -- Olga Andrew Designs Pattern 071.
A white crocheted fringed scrunchie is an excellent hair accessory. It wraps easily around hair and holds securely, can be easily removed and will not damage the hair. It can also be worn around a bun to help to hold the hair in place.
This is a step-by-step tutorial for scrunchies which have been hand crocheted over an elastic non-metal ponytail band. The pattern includes detailed photos with instructions how to make it -- useful for beginners. This pattern uses only basic stitches, so beginners should have no problem with it. It is written in English using Standard US crochet terminology (with UK crochet terminology if necessary).
The pattern can be made up with any yarn, thread and elastic that you have to create your very own ruffled scrunchie. Variations and experimentations are unlimited!
Skill level: easy (you only need basic crochet skills).
Materials you will need: 1) crochet yarn (I used Premium Acrylic DK yarn) about 15 g; 2) crochet hook (I used hook size H8/5mm); 3) hair band (I used non-metal large elastic hair band).
The approximate length of the fringe is about 8-9 cm (about 3.1-3.5 inch). The size of the scrunchie will vary depending on the hair band size, type of yarn, hook size and how tightly you crochet.
