Two double thickness striped chair seat cushions. Easy crochet tutorial pattern instant download -- Olga Andrew Designs Pattern 052.
This is a step-by-step tutorial pattern for a hand crocheted double striped chair seat cushion, which can be used as chair (stool, bench, armchair etc.) seat cover or decoration. There are two designs available for the chair seat cushion: contrasting stripes with a district colour change and contrasting stripes with a gradual colour change. The back of the cushion is one-colour (dark green).
The pattern can be made up with any yarn. The instructions have been tested on several types of yarn and thread. If you use a different yarn brand or type, use an average hook size between the smallest and largest on the yarn label. Variations and experimentations are unlimited!
The pattern includes detailed photos with instructions how to make it -- useful for beginners. This pattern uses only basic stitches, so beginners should have no problem with it. It is written in English using Standard US crochet terminology (with UK crochet terminology if necessary).
Skill level: easy (you only need basic crochet skills).
Materials you will need: 1) crochet yarn (I used Premium Acrylic DK yarn) dark green (approx. 130 g) as a basic colour, 5 shades of green colour for stripes for Design I and 3 shades of green colour for stripes for Design II. Total weight of chair seat is 220-250 g. 2) crochet hook (I used hook size 7 mm).
The approximate diameter of the crocheted chair seat cushion is about 39-41 cm (about 15.3-16.1 inch). The size of the chair seat cushion may vary depending on the type of yarn, hook size and how tightly you crochet.
