This is a quick, fun, easy pattern for the cat-lover in your life! Dk weight and 16"/40cm size US 3/3.25mm circular or straight needles. They are knitted flat and sewn together at the outside seam using mattress (ladder) stitch.
A note on the yarn: I used Cascade 220 Superwash Sport. This yarn knits to a dk gauge and we sold it in my shops for 10 years as a dk. So, if you substitute yarn, use a dk, NOT a sport weight! The colorwork is easy and intarsia. You can also knit the entire cat mitt, then use duplicate stitch embroider to add eyes, nose, and mouth.
Sharon Mooney
Knitting is my life! I've sold several thousand of my patterns online. I own Sharon Mooney Designs. I've designed for Cheryl Marschke, owner of Cherry Tree Hill, and for Bonnie Franz's "Stranded". One of my patterns was featured in Vogue Knitting's New and Knitworthy section. I have had designs in a Stitches West and two TNNA fashion shows (entered by Cherry Tree Hill). I've got patterns in the books "Special Little Knits from Just One Skein", "Broken Circle Trilogy, Volume 1", "Ribbon Style", and "60 Quick Knits From America's Yarn Shops". I've also designed for Jojoland, Brown Sheep, Frog Tree Yarns, Chameleon Colorworks, SWTC, Red Barn Yarn, LoveKnitting.com and Knit Picks, one of the designs having been featured in a Knit Picks catalog. I had a bootee and hat set published in Knit n Style's August 2010 issue. My book, "Amazing Lace", which contains 13 of my lace shawls and scarves using yummy Cherry Tree Hill yarns, published by Cooperative Press, it is available now through Amazon.com. I have a colorwork hat pattern called "Damask" in a Martingale Publishing book called "Knit Beanies". I also just published ebooks called "Easy and Quick Fingerless Mitts","The Lace Girls Volume 1", and "Spectacular Knitted Bracelets".
I like watercolor painting, gardening, and stitching of several types. I come from an Air Force family and my husband retired from the Air Force a while back. We live in southern California now and love it!
I have owned two successful yarn shops. I am now retired!
