The Cablelight Lampshade knitting pattern makes a lampshade that's a bit different and unusual and that looks fabulous when the lamp is on or off.
The Cablelight lampshade is a modern looking lampshade that is made from a knitted panel that is turned into a lampshade with a 20cm drum lampshade kit - that you can buy at craft stores.
Usually cables are knitted from the bottom upwards; but the lampshade has the cable so that it travels around the lampshade, and it has the effect of leading the eye.
When not in use the lampshade looks contemporary, its decorative and detailed with interest, but when its lit it takes on a whole new dimension, the light shining through the lampshade highlights every stitch and it looks fabulous.
The lampshade is knitted in Stylecraft Special Aran. There are lots of shades to choose from so you will be sure to find a shade that compliments your decor.
Once you have knitted the cable panel, you will need to use a 20cm Drum Lampshade Kit to assemble the lampshade. The kit contains everything you need to make the lampshade. It's really easy and they provide step by step instructions for every stage with lots of photos so you can see what you should be doing. The knitting pattern also has helpful tips and photos for building the lampshade with the knitted panel.
Your finished lampshade will be 18cms tall and 20cm in diameter, the perfect size for a table lamp.
Please note that the lampshade kit does not include the lamp base, only the parts to make a lampshade.
The pattern will be available for digital download as soon as you have completed purchase, so you could start knitting very soon!
This product is the knitting pattern only to make your own Cablelight lampshade.

I design and knit unique tea cosies. I really love designing exciting and unusual tea cosies, its great fun and people don’t mind having an over the top tea cosy. Plus they are a great talking point at tea time and make for brilliant knitting projects.
I have quite a following with regular customers who regularly buy my latest designs from my website TeaCosyFolk.co.uk
I have had a couple of patterns printed in the Simply Knitting Magazine, which is very exciting.
