Butterfly Lace Masquerade Mask Crochet Pattern (Costume, Adult, Photo Prop, Dress Up, Party, Halloween, Ball, Fantasy)
“In ancient Greek the word for butterfly is “Psyche”, which translated means “soul”. This was also the name for Eros’ human lover and when the two figures are depicted they are often surrounded by butterflies.”
This beautiful lace masquerade mask begins with the construction of the eyes and work outward in rounds as you add lace detail. It is then recommended that you stiffen the mask (however you desire) to keep it's shape. You may crochet straps onto the mask, or simply tie on lace, it's up to you!
Features a full photo tutorial!
(Note: I use a product called "Stiffy" to harden my masks.)
**Stitches Used: Ch=chain Sl st=slip stitch Sc=single crochet Hdc=half double crochet Dc=double crochet Tr= Triple or Treble Crochet
Special Term Used: Picot=ch3, sl st in beg ch

Butterfly Lace Masquerade Mask (dress up or photo prop)- crochet pattern
Farrah Hodgson
I am a crochet pattern designer. I am also the content editor over at 365crochet.com I have been crocheting for more than 20 years. I became interested in crocheting way back in junior high school after seeing a retro-ish granny square skirt in a fashion magazine. Fast forward 20 years . I've come a long way. I design, write, and chart my own patterns and I love to challenge myself with new ideas. My theory is that anything can be crocheted. What I give you? My best works of art.
