Buffalo is a jeans, bermuda trousers or cargo pants pattern for boys available from 2 to 16 years old. This pattern comes in two versions. The first, with a fake fly and an elasticated waistband, is particularly suitable for young children and is easy to make. The second with a zipped fly and a buttoned waistband is more suitable for teenagers, but requires more attention to detail. This version has back darts, and a buttoned elastic can be inserted into the waistband for a better fit. A choice of pocket options is available: front pockets with or without watch pocket, back patch pockets with or without hammer loop and utility pocket, and side pockets (cargo pockets). Cargo pockets can not be sewn on the Bermuda trousers and if you choose to sew the utility pocket on the right leg, you won't be able to sew a cargo pocket on it. You can add belt loops and rivets on the upper pocket corners. Contrast thread topstitching gives the final aesthetic touch. This pattern is not difficult to sew, but requires a little time, especially for the zipped fly version and if you choose all the pocket options.
