The Kieran Shirt is the perfect summer shirt for boys or girls; easy to sew with no buttonholes. The shirt pulls on over the head and is easy fitting. The back hem is lower than the front and side vents add to the casual appeal of this great little shirt. The top stitching can be done in a contrasting thread and you can use contrasting colours or print fabrics to make the shirt more interesting.

SIZES: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 to fit children 2 to 12 years old. Always check the size chart for your correct size, chest and height measurements are the best guide. A size chart in centimeters and inches is included in the pattern.

FABRICS: Lightweight woven fabrics and minimal stretch knit fabrics are the most suitable: poplin, lawn, linen, fuji rayon, homespun and cotton single knit jersey or similar fabrics. For ease of handling and to minimize fraying choose fabrics with a close weave e.g. poplin, homespun or knit. Very stretchy knits are not suitable for this style.

EXPERIENCE: Advanced beginner. The shirt requires plain sewing only with neat and accurate seaming; there are no buttonholes. Follow the sewing tutorial closely to be sure to sew everything in the correct sequence.
