Easy-to-follow crochet pattern to make two decorative bottle gourds.
Made with double knitting (DK, light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn and a 3.5mm (US: E-4) crochet hook, the finished gourds will be approximately 9cm (3.5 inches) long (Design 1) and 12.5cm (5 inches) long (Design 2), not counting the stalks.
However you can easily make larger or smaller gourds by choosing a different weight yarn and matching hook. The pattern includes detailed notes on choosing an appropriate yarn.
This pattern only uses the dc (US: sc) stitch and its decrease. It is fully illustrated with colour photos and tips are provided throughout. Plus all my crochet patterns come with my full e-mail support for any questions whatsoever.
A tutorial is included on the ‘invisible’ decrease method which is so useful to learn for 3D and amigurumi projects.
The pattern also includes a succinct, 1-page, unillustrated version of the pattern written in traditional crochet notation, for ease of printing.
This is one of my range of pumpkin and gourd crochet patterns with which you can make a stunning autumn centrepiece or cornucopia for your home.
This pattern is available in both UK and US crochet terminology. Both documents will be available for you on purchase and you can choose whichever you prefer to use.

Little Conkers
Little Conkers exists to help you get the most from your time and pennies - whether you're making something for yourself or as a gift - as a way of spreading the joy of creativity.
I know that, for many people, creativity is often fitted into the slivers of time that you can find between all the other "must dos" in your life. But you know that making something yourself means it can be exactly what you need, look exactly how you want and can give you untold pleasure day after day.
My sewing and crochet patterns are specifically designed with the time-strapped and frugal in mind, requiring no superfluous equipment and including practical suggestions on how to up-cycle materials wherever possible.
I am a real person, and always love to hear from my customers all around the world. All my patterns come with my full e-mail support, so do feel free to ask any questions you may have. Enjoy your creating!
