PAOLA is a sophisticated but above all comfortable dress in trendy boho style.
At the waist PAOLA is gathered with several rows of elastic threads. This creates a beautiful effect and gives the dress a very individual look. For an even better fit, there are two horizontal bust darts in front piece. The sleeve is slightly puffy cut, but does not bulk up. Through the many variations PAOLA definitely has the potential to be your new favorite dress!
💡Sizes → EU 32 - 50 → US 0 - 16 → UK 4 - 22
The dress PAOLA is available in three different lengths.
As a maxi version, which can also be worn in autumn / winter super stylish with boots.
As a midi version in mullet style. Here, the front part is cut in a slight bow shorter than the back part. The bow is cut very gently, so the dress falls beautifully, especially when walking. As a mini variant, which ends above the knee. Ideal for the summer and the next vacation!
You also have a choice in the processing of the neckline.
On the one hand, the dress can be sewn with a placket. You can either sew it as a decorative fake button placket or you can sew buttonholes and turn it into a real button placket.
If you prefer it more simple, you can also sew the neckline simply as a V-neck and trim it with a facing. Both variations are described in detail in the e-book. You can also watch my YouTube tutorial on how to make the placket (video tutorial is in German only).
For the sleeves you can also choose between 2 sleeve lengths. You can sew the dress with a long sleeve. This is finished with a sleeve slit and a cuff with tie belt.
The shorter sleeve ends just above the elbow and is gathered just above the hem with several elastic threads.
👗 FABRIC SELECTION: PAOLA is constructed for non-stretch fabrics. In order for the dress to retain its soft, light drape, the best fabric to use is a softly draping viscose. The softer your fabric falls, the more beautiful the gathers will be in the end.
Whether plain or a fabric with pattern is entirely up to you. With the maxi dress and patterned fabrics I advise you to hold the fabric once completely in front of your body to be able to estimate how the pattern could work as a maxi dress.
😎 WHAT YOU WILL GET: All my sewing patterns include detailed instructions, helpful sewing tips, and colour photos showing you each step. You can also find a lot of youtube tutorials for the most pattern on my YouTube Channel (La Bavarese). The YouTube videos are in German.
You will get the pattern as a PDF file on A4 and US Letter paper. You will also get A0 files to print the pattern at your copyshop. Seam allowance is already included.
All files are divided into layers. You have the possibility to display only your desired sizes. This makes the lines less confusing and if you are between two sizes, you can print them all at once.
All patterns are designed by me. The construction of the patterns as well as the grading is done by my professional and experienced pattern director.
