Choose your own adventure with this customizable beginner crochet blanket pattern. My step-by-step instructions will guide you through the entire project, but this pattern is so flexible, you can switch things up with any yarn, any stitch, and any size you’d like.
It’s a wonderful way to use up scrap yarn you have laying around (I recommend using at least 5 different colors if you want them to alternate nicely), and can be worked in pieces at your leisure. There are endless color combinations!
The thing that makes this blanket extra special is its striking seams. Wherein crocheters are usually trying to hide their seams, these are meant to stand out, using thick strands of contrasting yarn. The end result is a beautiful modern farmhouse look.
This printable PDF pattern will break this easy crochet blanket pattern down into simple manageable steps.

Knitting with Chopsticks
Hi there,
I’m Hortense, a passionate knitter, crocheter and yarn addict. I created Knitting with Chopsticks (www.knittingwithchopsticks.com) to share my creations and help you make your own.
It’s thanks to blogs that I have learned most of what I know about knitting and crochet. My mom taught me the basics of knitting whe n I was a small girl, bored on the beach (yep, that’s possible when you are 10) and since then I haven’t stopped. Always looking to learn, do more, do better and share my love of yarn, I created Knitting with Chopsticks to make knitting and crochet as simple as it gets so YOU can create what YOU want the way YOU want it.
Engineer by trade, crafter by passion, you will usually find me playing with some yarn while watching the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy (and probably eating some chocolate, I’m from Belgium, what can I say?).
