Learn to sew your own adorable family of birds 'Hennie', 'Coco' & 'Blu' complete with cosy pompom hats & scarves with this PDF pattern & tutorial.
All of these birds can carry special treasures in both their front & rear wings or deliver extra special gifts to their owners.
Hennie is the largest of the little group & is very protective of her smaller friends. She loves to be in charge of all nest decorations & can often be found sitting on the fence keeping watch for neighbourhood cats & fending off meddlesome squirrels from the bird feeder. She has a very keen interest in nest decor & will stop at nothing to bring home the fluffiest moss & the most bendy twigs for total home comfort. Hennie measures approximately 33 cm (12.5 inches) tall by 34 cm (13 inches) wide (not including her legs).
Coco is a keen follower of fashion & can usually be found watching the world go by from her perch above her favourite coffee shop sign. She has a bit of a sweet tooth & prefers hunting for tasty crumbs around bistro tables to chasing down worms. Coco has been known to take quite a risk to get her beak on the tastiest crumbs from her favourite almond croissants, blueberry muffins & hot buttered tea cakes. She is a generous little bird & always happy to bring home Hennie’s favourite carrot cake crumbs to share. Coco measures approximately 22 cm (9 inches) wide (not including her legs).
Blu is the cutest little bird in the world & a very talented artist. She uses her tiny size to her advantage when it comes to collecting craft supplies including buttons, coins & wool, (well, the wool collection involves more of a conscious unravelling of knitwear hung out to dry...but it’s all in a good cause) & will soon be opening her very own ‘nest boutique’ specialising in tiny pompom hats, edible suet ball sculptures & wing studs. She measures approximately 10 cm (3.5 inches) tall by 10 cm (3.4 inches) wide (not including her legs).
