you want to try tapestry crochet, this is a perfect and quite simple blanket to do it. The pattern uses only one stitch, single crochet stitch, what changes durign the stitches is the yarn color. You will be working with two colors the entire time, they will alternate between white, beige and mustard. The one that will not be visible, will be carried through the row, and the primary one will be the one you will be working with. Switch the colors as indicated in the instructions.
