The ebook includes the pattern KERDIL for babies by Nähfrosch, detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options, as well as practical tips for sewing.
We love this classic garment - the baby shirt KERDIL with envelope openings at the neckline. It's very practical for the little ones and looks great because of the overlapping shoulders. You can choose to sew the neckline with binding strip or cuffed fabric. We will guide you through both options in this e-book. Great effects can be achieved with color contrasting binding and cuff fabric. The hems are simply folded over and stitched in place. If you like it a bit more sporty, you can of course also add a cuff. By the way, KERDIL is available as a long-sleeved version for the cooler season and as a short-sleeved version for the sunny months. You can definitely use this pattern all year round. Your child will love KERDIL!
Oh, how fitting this name is, isn't it? KERDIL is Indonesian and translates into "dwarf". Just perfect for this adorable dwarf outfit in our opinion.
We have to admit - this neckline looks quite easy and uncomplicated! And yet, depending on the material, it can be a bit tricky to avoid wrinkles here. But don't worry: We'll show you how it's done and after the third shirt at the latest, you'll be a real pro at this :) Otherwise, the shirt is a piece of cake!
Fabric recommendations:
Stretchy fabrics such as jersey, knitted fabrics and summer sweats are suitable for KERDIL. Stretchy velour or jersey in corduroy style also look good. In the case of sweatshirt fabrics pay attention to their elasticity properties. With the wrong fabric the sleeves could eventually become too tight. Thin jerseys are recommended for the summer months.
Fabric consumption:
For KERDIL you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 150 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):
Version without cuff Sizes 56 - 74 0.45 m Sizes 80 - 98 0.50 m
Additional material
You can sew the envelope openings neckline with elastic binding strip or with cuffed fabric. This has no effect on the length.
