The Rose Bud Romper is a very special little summer romper for baby girls from 3 months to 3 years. Frilly and pretty with bow tie shoulders that allow for some adjustment in body length and snap fasteners at the crotch. The neckline and frills are stitched with a fancy machine stitch using glossy embroidery thread to add a special touch. Most sewing machines have a variety of fancy stitches to choose from --- just try out a few on your machine to see which is most suitable. The top stitching is optional.
SIZES: 000,00,0,1,2,3 --- to fit children 3 months to 3 years. Always check the size chart for a guide to your correct size --- the chest and height measurements are the best guide, these are body size measurements, ease has been added to the pattern.
EXPERIENCE: Intermediate. There are no buttons or buttonholes and you need only plain sewing skills but with intermediate sewing experience to make the romper; careful attention to seam allowances is important. Follow the sewing tutorial closely for best results.
FABRICS: The best fabrics to use are very light weight printed cottons e.g. lawn, fine poplin or poly/cotton. Light weight, soft fabrics work best with the tie-up shoulders.
PDF SEWING PATTERN: the pattern can be printed on a desk top printer using 8.5"x 11" / A4 or Letter size paper. The pattern file includes a very detailed sewing tutorial with step by step photos. The computer made digital pattern comes as a color coded, full size range nest with seam allowances included. Instructions for printing and assembling the pattern are included. All seam allowances and cutting instructions are marked on the pattern pieces.
