The ebook includes the pattern GULA for babies by Nähfrosch, detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options, as well as practical tips for sewing.
A cozy pattern with a feel-good guarantee - that's the GULA romper. The secret: a casual pattern that leaves enough freedom of movement for little explorers while still keeping them warm. Parents will especially appreciate the practical button placket at the shoulder - optionally on one or both sides. This makes it much easier to put on and take off the romper. The button placket at the crotch is particularly suitable for everyday use. Thanks to this practical diaper opening, changing diapers happens in a heartbeat and without having to take off everything! With the smart dividing seam at the top and sleeves, you can put together your GULA suit individually using a mix of fabrics and even use one or two leftover pieces of fabric. By the way, cuddly sweatshirt fabric or alternatives like fleece, teddy and other cuddly materials are recommended for GULA. GULA can also be sewn as a sweatshirt. Just follow the dividing line and add a waistband. A fantastic look!
The name is at least as beautiful as the romper itself. GULA is Indonesian and translates into "sugar". It fits this sweet garment perfectly, right?
GULA is definitely suitable as a beginner project. Maybe not as your very first sewing project, but you don't need much experience to make this feel-good piece. After all, we are going to guide you with this step-by-step tutorial and explain everything in detail.
Fabric recommendations
For the playsuit GULA you can use sweatshirt fabrics, both roughened as well as French terry. Nicki, fleece and slightly stretchy teddy plush are also very cozy. Jersey will also look good.
For our example model (see below) we used a lovely patterned French Terry from Evlis Needle - by the way, it's an in-house production.
Fabric consumption
Fabric consumption for a fabric width of 150 cm (including seam allowance and some buffer): Sizes 56 - 68 = 0.75 m Sizes 74 - 80 = 0.85 m Sizes 86 - 98 = 1.00 m
If you want to sew the sweatshirt version it will of course be a little less fabric.
Additional material
- Thin fusible web to reinforce
- Cuff fabric for the cuffs
- Snap fasteners
