Your little firefighter will love playing with this rattle shaped like Dad's (or Mom's) axe. Make a racing axe for your little lumberjack or a double-blade axe for your little Viking or Renaissance fan. Book also includes tomahawk rattle pattern and battle axe rattle pattern (with instructions for double or single blade).
These rattles make unique baby shower gifts, photography props or accessories for baby's first Halloween costume.
Very versatile patterns. Use worsted weight yarn from your scrap basket (cotton or polyester). You can use an empty pill bottle to make the rattle or buy a rattle insert. I have also made them with a squeaker for a dog toy.
If you would like an axe rattle in a style you don't see here, please feel free to send me a message, and I'll see what I can create for you.

Lisa has been a crafter most of her life, beginning with her mother teaching her to sew her own clothes. She continued the tradition and made most of her children's clothing. Her daughters used to tell their friends they had their own personal designer. She still sews, quilts, knits and needlepoints, but her true passion is crochet. Her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews have provided constant inspiration for her designs.
Her favorite designs are children and baby clothing. She loves working in polyester yarns (worsted and baby) because they wash so easily.
