Is it a puppet? Is it a purse? No - it's both!
This PDF sewing pattern, for both hand or machine stitching, enables you to make the super cute Animal Puppet Purse. The puppet purse incorporates a small, snap closed purse (wallet), where children can put their pennies. Then un-snap and it turns into a hand puppet - a bear (or polar bear), pig, rabbit, mouse or cat. With the addition of an optional strap, it can be hung round the neck or strung over a shoulder. It's the perfect, unique gift that children will adore!
The pattern contains 3 sizes: small - for children up to age 5 approx, large - for age 6 to 9 approx, extra large - age 10 and over
Materials needed: felt or fleece, buttons for eyes etc, ribbon for strap (optional), embroidery thread (hand sewn version) and a small metal snap fastener.
Rated as Beginner+ as it's easy to make. However, some of the pieces, like the nose, are a bit fiddly to sew on the machine - you can easily hand sew them though!
The PDF file includes:
Pattern: fully scaled, computer generated pattern pieces using non-trim method of assembly
Materials needed, including a chart showing the size of each piece of coloured fabric required
Metric and imperial measurements
Printing instructions, including using layers to print assembly lines for letter and A4 paper
Tutorial: detailed step-by-step instructions, for both machine and hand sewing, with clear diagrams and tips

Bishy Barnababes
I am Vicki Hibbins, the designer and owner of Bishy Barnababes - creating cute PDF sewing patterns that mum's will love to sew and children will love to wear. I live in Norwich, UK (where a ladybird is called a bishy barnabee) with my husband, daughter, dog and cat.
A Primary teacher for over 20 years and sewing since I was 4 (my grandfather taught me using a Victorian sewing machine), I combine both these passions to make patterns with great instructions that are suitable for beginners upwards. I love sharing my skills and introducing sewers to new techniques - my favourite at the moment being free-motion appliqué. I also produce The Sewing Room podcast where I share the ins and outs of running a pattern company, latest Bishy Barnababes news and the latest creations from my sewing room.
