The Amy blouse is characterized by its pretty sleeves all in volume, rubbed by a central elastic. This gives it a style that is both modern and original.
Its visible zipper at the back gives it a little sporty side and you can sew it with short sleeves or 3/4 sleeves.
The 3/4 sleeves are particularly suitable if you sew amy blouse in sweatshirt fabric since it is possible to make it in chain and weft fabric as well as knitted fabric.
SIZES The set of patterns is available from size 34 to 46 (FR) / 6 to 18 (UK) corresponding to 32 to 41 ¼ inches for the bust size.
FABRIC QUALITY A large variety of fabrics may be used, each giving a specific look to the « Amy blouse ». It goes from warp and weft (viscose, cotton,…) to knitwear for a more sportswear look.
Should you use knitwear: - Our advice is to select the size just below your normal size so as to have a more fitted blouse. - You should also know that having a visible zipper with a stretchy material needs to be very good in sewing. Zipper is in all cases optional (including warp and weft) as the blouse can be put on without opening it.
On the pictures it has been sew in a:
- Burgundi and blue velvet jersey
- Red viscose
DIFFICULTY: Intermediate to experienced level
The main difficulty of the Amy blouse is the sewing of the zipper on the back. Without it, the making of the Amy blouse is accessible to all.
And if the sewing of the zipper is relatively easy in warp and weft fabric and requires an intermediate sewing level, it requires some experience to sew it on knitted fabrics.
