Now we know why chickens don’t fly. Their wings are meant to keep their chicklets warm, safe and cosy under !
This PDF crochet pattern describes in US terminology how to crochet mommy chickens with chicklets as shown on pictures.
Finished size will be approx. 8” (20 cm) tall, crocheted using sport weight cotton yarn and hook size C (2.5 mm). SMC Catania Solids was used to create the chicken in pictures. This pattern is also suitable for wool or acrylic yarn. If you wish to make a taller or smaller version of this amigurumi, you can just use thicker or thinner yarn / crochet hook (please note; safety eye size needs adjusting when using different yarn weight / hook size).
Gauge is not important for this pattern, just crochet tight enough so the stuffing will not show through the stitches.
Skill Level: advanced beginner
