These fair isle handwarmers are inspired by acorn trees and birds!
The fair isle design is identical on the front and the back of each handwarmer.
The pattern includes instructions for three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The knuckle circumference for each of these sizes are: 7” for size small, 8” for size medium, and 9” for size large.
The handwarmers are knit in the round from the bottom up on double pointed 3mm (2.5US) needles.
The sample is knit with fingering weight yarn, Jamieson’s 2-Ply Spindrift (Shetland Wool) with three colours, 1 ball of each: Eggshell (768), Celtic (790), and Port Wine (293). One ball is 25 grams / 105 meters.
Hope you enjoy the pattern! Happy knitting!

We are three sisters that love knitting!
Our Scottish grandmother taught us to knit when we were 5 and 7 years old and we have been knitting ever since. Over the years after adapting patterns and then designing various pieces Fiona realised that we should be making these new creations into patterns that can then be shared with others. All three of us have our own design styles and interests but love to help each other with these designs even though we have become geographically dispersed across Canada, England, and Scotland. In terms of knitting style we love natural fibers and colour! Fiona in particular has a thing for fair isle design and Hannah loves wildlife (birds in particular).
