Materials you need at home:
- Needles US4; 3.50 mm circular needles, 47 inches; 120 cm long or other size to obtain gauge. US6; 4.00 mm circular needles (for bind off only).
- Wool Approx. 875 yards; 800 meters of fingering wool or other to obtain gauge (or 2 skeins of 440 yards; 400 meters for knit with 2 colors).
- Other Tapestry needle for weaving end.
This shawl is in the shape of a triangle, you will increase by 4 stitches in each RS row, on each side of the shawl and on each side of the central ridge. It is made up of 3 sections, one in garter stitch, one in mosaic stitch, one in lace stitch, each of which is separated by a band of eyelet. The shawl ends with a brioche border.
Size: Approx. 63 inches; 160 cm in wingspan (along the upper edge) and 31½ inches; 80 cm in depth, after block.
Gauge: 26 sts and 30 rows for 4 inches; 10 cm in garter st after a light block. The gauge isn’t crucial to this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage.
